Director, Global Direct Procurement

Job Location US-NJ-Ewing


The Director will build and develop a high performing team including 3rd party resources accountable for direct materials and services on a global basis This person will help drive transformational change within the current Procurement organization to enable significant value creation, including enabling innovation, managing supply risk and driving sourcing strategies.  This person will also develop strong business relationships to achieve top-line and bottom-line company objectives and provide strong leadership within the organization to improve upon capabilities. The Director will lead a team of up to 25 including 3rd party resources and drive programs across procurement that will lead the delivery of cost savings and cash flow.


  • Lead the development, communication, and implementation of Procurement objectives, operating philosophies, business strategies, and vision for all direct materials and services
  • Lead the team to optimally manage and drive maximum value on the total external spend of direct materials and services for C&D to include categories such as Chemicals, Packaging, and Energy
  • Monitor commodity markets and indexes to refine and influence short-term and long-term procurement commodity and hedging strategies
  • Develop and implement best-in-class Sourcing Strategy, procure highest quality materials, manage commodity risk to ensure business & supply continuity, achieve annual productivity goals, and work closely with Supply Chain to ensure Inventory and Service Levels (Speed, Value, Quality, Fill rate, Margins, Productivity, Innovation etc.) goals are accomplished
  • Facilitate relationships across the internal and external supply chain (Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics & Distribution etc..) to achieve business goals


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business, supply chain, science, engineering or related discipline
  • 10-15 years’ experience in increasingly broader procurement, commodities, supply chain or product supply roles with demonstrated track record of achievement and growth in leadership
  • 5+ years of extensive and broad managerial experience in team management
  • Leadership role in procurement transformation (People, Process, Technology)
  • Delivered step change in organizational capability, operations and financial delivery
  • ERP/P2P systems SAP/Oracle
