Our Global Purchasing team is looking for a driven and reliable Manager, Direct Procurement, Commodities and Real Estate Portfolio whose action-oriented mindset will foster continued growth throughout our leading brands.

    This highly visible role located at our Ewing, NJ Global Headquarters will report directly to our VP of Procurement. In this role, you will lead the development of a strategic vision and operational plan in chemical and packaging/resin commodities to maximize business value through effective category management. The category manager will be responsible for managing a large spend portfolio in conjunction with the Director of Direct Procurement who will contribute to an overall Procurement target of $115MM in cost savings and $60MM in cash flow over 4 years. Additionally, this role will have leadership over the company-wide Real Estate Portfolio with accountability to engage internal stakeholders, approved 3rd Party Real Estate Companies and Lease Holders to manage and/or negotiate existing or new leases.



    What you’ll do:

    Commodity Risk Management:
    • Provide Procurement and Functional stakeholders an understanding of key commodities and the components that impact input costs to drive the commodity management program forward, meeting the cost containment needs of the business
    • Monitor commodity markets and indexes to refine and influence short-term and long-term procurement commodity and hedging strategies
    • Provide innovation and expertise into the development of new commodity management strategies
    • Work with Accounting/External Audit to influence the use of new hedging techniques and accounting treatment
    • Benchmark with other strategic organizations to gain insight into new tools and techniques for commodity management
    • Gather market intelligence and develop commodity strategies for all key commodities and applicable markets
    • Assess and approve supplier and market details for all commodities
    • Provide senior leadership with all necessary commodity information for quarterly analyst and earnings calls
    • Lead quarterly reviews with the EVP & CFO, EVPO Supply Chain and VP Procurement on hedging recommendations
    • Develop and communicate market data to key customers in support of category strategy development, supplier selection, and negotiations across a variety of chemical & packaging categories
    • Collaborate with packaging, raw material, distribution and finance teams to ensure business needs, budgets, and deadlines are met
    • Devise ways and means to maximize commodity buying efficiency and minimize risks, with the objective of price stability within a given market
    • Develop pricing strategies for all commodities, looking at the entire basket to meet year over year financial targets
    • Provide guidance to R&D to identify cost-effective alternate materials/technologies
    • Bring in new learnings and industry insights into the program to keep it moving forward


    Real Estate Management:
    • Engage internal stakeholders, approved 3rd Party Real Estate Companies and Lease Holders to manage and/or negotiate existing or new leases.
    • Develop internally or source externally a central respository technology for all company leases for ready access and tracking
    • Develop and proactively advise Management on Real Estate strategies and recommendations
    • Execute all approved lease related activites
    • Utilize Best Practices and 3rd Party support to optimize terms and conditions of all lease Agreements, working closely with Legal and Finance



    What you’ll need:

    • Bachelors (required) preferable in Economics, Finance, or Mathematics, MBA (preferred) 
    • 7+ yrs. working directly with commodity/commodity risk management
    • 3+ yrs. working within, or having Leadership over, Real Estate  preferred
    • Strong knowledge Excel, Access, Word; PowerPoint, Outlook, ERP/ P2P systems knowledge

    • Working knowledge of market exchanges and indices
    • Knowledge of Real Estate including key terms and conditions and approaches and techniques to minimize risk and maximize value
    • Prior experience working with Lease Holders and 3rd Party Real Estate Companies
    • Experience developing hedging strategies and commodity/3rd party supplier risk management
    • Strong understanding of commodities and indexed markets and their impact to procurement costs/Budgets, Purchase Price Variance
    • Strong Financial analysis, quantitative skills & cost modelling
    • High degree of motivation, the ability to prioritize and self-direct and sound interpersonal skills
    • Proactive, responsive and possessing a sense of urgency
    • Strategic thinking and ability to influence with data
    • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills required
    • Excellent people management and mentoring skills
